What started as a hobby...
I picked up woodworking as a hobby in high school and never let it go. Whether it's making a small piece of furniture or building kitchen cabinets from scratch, I enjoy every aspect. I started making decor and furniture out of reclaimed wood in an effort to give meaningful, handmade gifts to friends and family on special occasions. The more items we made, the more my wife and I kept hearing this phrase: "You guys should start selling this stuff."
Every item we sell is handmade in our shop by either me, or my apprentice, Trevor. I am committed to staying small enough that I can always be directly involved in the building of our items.
Drakestone Designs is definitely a family business. My wife (Emily) helps a lot with design, finishing, and logistics. My son Jackson (a toddler) has already taken an interest in woodworking, and is always eager to help as well.
If you are looking for unique, meaningful, high quality, handmade items, then we hope you find something you like in our store!
